We found out on our 19Th week Ultrasound that we are going to have....... a girl. Her name is Kendall Anne and we have been confessing for 2 years over our unborn children.
If it was a boy his name is gonna be Richard Jr. and since it's a girl it's Kendall Anne. We love the name Kendall, her middle name is after Rick's mother, who recently passed. We are so excited to be able to say Hi mama, that's what we call her and before we found out, we called the bump, Jr.
Our belief was we were having a boy.
It is so funny on a spiritual note, when you have all YOUR i's dotted and t's crossed, notice I say YOUR, and you find out (Thanks Pastor Ben) that God really doesn't have to do anything for you. Just because you make your petition known it is just your petition. We had a desire but when it was explained to us, it makes more sense to go with the plan of God, because HMMM.... He knows best! We are excited and really thankful for even being able to have a baby.
We have been waiting for more movement from her, since we read in a book "What to expect when expecting" that at the 5th month you should be experiencing movement. I would notice that I'm getting more than flutters, it is so special to be having a conversation or be eating and going about your daily routine and then all of a sudden you feel this kick or a wave of movement. I know some people might think we are exaggerating but we get sound too, like gurgling but it is so funny. Rick can really get her going when he puts his mouth on my belly and says SWIM OVER HERE... and she makes her way towards his voice and responds when he talks. One night he started talking to her late in the evening and praying over her, she woke up did what she normally does and then she wouldn't go back to sleep. And guess who was sleeping very soundly?? DADDY! I said wake up since you wanted to talk and now she won't go to sleep..
We are really excited about all the things that are available now for babies, like state of the art monitors, pack and plays, travel systems, and the whole nine yards. It is very funny walking through the store being able to finally pick things out when it was just a dream of one day being able to buy for our baby.
Since I'm a party planner by trade, planning is one of many things I'm passionate about. I really like being prepared for things and I would go to the stores (window shopping) for that day when we are able to provide for our baby. Since I didn't know the sex of the baby, because I wasn't even pregnant yet, I made it a point to buy neutral items. I would find things on clearance like bottle brushes, diaper changing pads, things that would help keep your baby stable in the car seat. I knew we would need it at some point in time so I would buy it. I know people thought I was crazy, here she goes again, because I did it when I was believing God for a husband, and it made it so much easier on us. We just believed God is not slack to perform His Word. We put our faith into action.
In the doctor's office we both went and it was a lot of tension in the air for me, I was excited and nervous because I hadn't seen the baby since she was a black blob, on the ultrasound photo. She was the size of a bean and now to actually get to see her bigger and looking like a human being, was amazing. The whole process makes us think of how awesome God is, and really to look at creation of life taking place right before our eyes, words can't describe the joy that fills our heart.
Rick found one of our confession sheets that was dated 11/15/06 and to see what we were believing God for back then and the foundational scripture that we were standing on was Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord makes one rich and adds no sorrow with it.
She was playing "hide and seek" she didn't want to cooperate with the technician and it wasn't until I turned on my side that we got some really good glimpses of her, OH MY GOODNESS! It was amazing we could have stayed in that place watching her for hours doing turns and flips, exercising her legs and moving her arms on her forehead as if she was saying "please turn off that light" I'm trying to sleep in here. It wasn't until I got home that I noticed that I had a bruise on my stomach from the ultrasound sensor. It didn't hurt when she was doing the test, I was just a little uncomfortable during the process. Can you say ouch! LOL
All in all it was a great appointment and we were glad to see our new little baby girl! Look for future post and leave us a note to let us know that you visited.

I know you are pretty sleepy right now..but soon you'll be getting burst of energy that will allow you to get done all you will need to do to get ready for Kendall. You, Rick and Kendall will definitely be on the Superfamily prayer board.. Merry Christmas! John and Camille
